Review of City of Men (2007) by Christopher A — 30 Jan 2010
Tagline: An unforgettable tale of friendship and survival in a city where the greatest challenge is growing up.
Summary:
Growing up in a culture dictated by violence and run by street gangs, teenagers Acerola and Laranjinha have become as close as brothers. With their 18th birthdays fast approaching, Laranjinha sets out to find the father he's never met, while Acerola struggles to raise his young son. But when they suddenly find themselves on opposite sides of a gang war, the lifelong friends are forced to confront a shocking secret from their shared past.
My Review:
A harrowing film at times but a magnificent one too. A film everyone should try to see.
