Review of City of Men (2007) by Steve P — 04 Dec 2011
Worthy successor to its predecessor, City of God, but doesn't pack the same punch or adrenaline rush. Instead, City of Men focuses more on the human element in Rio de Janeiro, and those outside of the brutal gang violence the area is so renowned for.
And ultimately, it goes to show just how hard it is to distance yourself... and your family, from the warfare. Amazing cinematography, and well shot, it truly was an eye-catching spectacle.
