Review of City of Life and Death (2009) by Richard S — 09 Aug 2012
This is a tough one to watch, it's a brilliantly made film but it is so harrowing and upsetting that it's a hard one to get through. I'll be the first to admit that I only knew a little of the events in Nanking in 1937 but this film recreates everything and does well in showing the persepctive of both sides.
The only film I could compare this to is Schindler's List and I'd certainly rate it as high as that movie. Well acted and filmed throughout, well worth checking out.
