Review of City of God (2002) by Andreas O — 18 Apr 2011
What a powerful movie, with a compelling story line , and some traumatizing characters (to say the least). A real look into the brutal slums of Rio de Janeiro (based on a true story). It was scary to see such a corrupt place for children to be brought up in, where they end up worse than the adults; killing and stealing to survive.
This is without mentioning the corrupt police force, who give a helping hand to drug-dealing gangs in order to protect themselves. Flawless acting & a must-see!
