Completely engrossing, I was so entranced by this film that I got a parking ticket for not moving my car but I didn't want to miss one minute of the film once it got started. You forget that you're watching a movie in subtitles because the story is so compelling.
There is love, mystery, action, violence, comedy, pretty much every thing that you can want from a film. The characters are so well developed that they become your best friends or your worst enemies. Not a film that is easily forgotten, Cidade de Deus is raw and definitely worth watching, even if you're not a fan of foreign films.
