Review of City of God (2002) by Max G — 06 Sep 2012
Very disturbing, yet compelling narrative take on life in the favelas. At every beginning of another story, explicit character depth in flashbacks occur before you'd think something comes up unreasonable, and of course there will be non-stop violence that'll make it too difficult to watch but somehow not let you turn your eyes away from the film due to the editing style.
The whole idea the film makes is: You never know when the deadly bullet hits you.
