Review of City of God (2002) by Stephen L — 17 Jul 2013
The fact that I got my family to sit down for a 2-hour movie with subtitles and they where all glued to their seats should be enough of a win, but this really is a once in a generation type of movie. The character arcs are not only interesting but very thorough and fleshed out, clearly the filmmakers cared enough not to rush the movie unnecessarily.
The cinematography is energetic and modern making fr a very hip, fresh film. If your looking to start watching foreign movies (which everybody should) this is as good a place to start as any.
