Review of City of God (2002) by Matt D — 08 Nov 2015
Ferocious in Every Way! A film that bursts with life and soars with epic storytelling, (steeped in historical fact mind you). Profoundly authentic, riveting, & unflinchingly savage! City Of God chronicles the rise & fall of 3 generations of Brazilian gangs.
Including their in fighting and feuding for power and supremacy over the drug trade in the slum dubbed "the City of God". That of which would ultimately lead to bloodshed and merciless vendetta, throughout the 60's and 70's.
Set to the back drop of beautiful Rio De Janiro, this outlaw tale is a scorcher, that is both cinematically gorgeous and audaciouslly difficult to watch...a must see!!!
