Review of City of God (2002) by Anthony K — 22 Jan 2018
Dark, disturbing, powerful, and often funny, City of God is a totally immersive tale, complimented by naturalistic performances and inventive, almost Guy Ritchie-esque camera work. It can be a little bit difficult to follow who exactly is who among the huge roster of characters, but fortunately their colorful names and fleshed out personalities help keep them straight.
