I can't say is a complete bore. It did give me a bit of entertainment but in general it is a really bland story. The acting could have been a lot better, but the main characters are children, maybe is due to the lack of experience.
Visually speaking I did enjoy it. I do believe they did a good job.
I think is more for kids, for all the kids that saw it with me said they liked it....
P.S. I've never read the book, but I don't think that would have made a difference.
