Review of City of Ember (2008) by Rocky S — 01 May 2009
Given I had never read the books, I entered this movie thinking it was just another young adult novel hastily turned into a movie by Hollywood. Instead I was surprised to find a film with remarkable depth while remaining focused on a younger audience driven by a rather strong plot that was more science fiction than anything else.
It's not going to win any awards but it's still a nice enjoyable film, especially if you're into well thought-out adventure mysteries.
