Review of City Lights (2014) by Stephen E — 19 Dec 2012
Charlie Chaplin's films have this amiable, timeless quality to them that makes them so immensely watchable and his "City Lights" is probably the best example of this. On the outside, it plays out like a tale of courage and redemption for its lead character, but at heart it's nothing more than a simple love story.
The slapstick humor is especially effective and the ending is applause-worthy.
