Review of City Lights (2014) by Brandon V — 06 Feb 2013
City Lights is Charlie Chaplin's masterpiece romance story, and one of my favorite movies. It presents a wholly satisfying elaboration on the intricacies and subtle nuances of quirky relationships and genuine love.
This time it's a bum courting a blind woman. The slapstick humor is also incredibly hilarious, the acting is astounding, and the direction, while it's still in the transitional era between silent film and talkie, is ahead of its time in visual uniqueness and quality.
See this, it's gut-wrenching and a perfect romantic comedy.
