Review of City Lights (1931) by Steven S — 13 Apr 2013
This is the greatest romantic comedy I have ever seen. This movie is so brilliant. Such a loveable love story. A poor tramp falling for a blind flower girl. I just couldn't believe how hooked I was on this movie when I watched it.
It's such a great film and it's hilarious as well. It's so funny when he meets the drunk milionaire and they form the most unlikely friendship. Sadly, the millionaire only remembers him when he's drunk, but thats what makes it funny though.
This movie is just brilliant. Yes, I have to say it twice, because it is true. I've witnessed genious. And that genious is Charles Chaplin. To me, he plays one of the most heroic characters of all time.
Helping a poor blind flower girl and then making her life the best thing thats ever happend to her. Next to The Gradute, Annie Hall, and It Happend One Night, City Lights has become my #1 Romantic Comedy.
