Review of City Island (2009) by Roxanne R — 27 Aug 2010
Andy Garcia plays the role of Vince Rizzo, a corrections officer who lives in City Island NY..well Vince harbors a deep secret about his ambitions, what he really wants to do in life (He is not the only one with that secret trust me).
.that's what drove me to rent this movie and it turned out to be very good..Anyways the Rizzos, a family who doesn't share their habits, aspirations, and careers with one another, find their delicate web of lies disturbed by the arrival of a young ex-con (Strait) brought home by Vince, the patriarch of the family.
There is a connection between the ex-con and Vince, and its amazing how some lies can cause major catastrophe. When all is said and done, honesty IS the best policy. Instead of keeping dark secrets that tear you up and stop you from living life fully just come out with it.
..vent out and disclose them to your family! In the end its the best thing that can happen. Good story line and acting, definitely worth the rental and for those aspiring actors its a keeper! God does work in mysterious ways and sometimes things happen for the right reason.
Enjoy this one!
