Review of City Island (2009) by Rubie O — 23 Apr 2011
One of the better comedy dramas I have seen lately. It's really funny in an intelligent way and it is a very enjoyable movie. Garcia does his job and the rest of the cast are all right.
The thing I really enjoyed was the characters and their way of dealing with their family members. It's a "builder" and it got better and better. I was not bored once and I didn't want it to end. It have loads of great touches and moments. The only thing I didn't like was the half way stupidity or naiveness from the characters. They didn't figure stuff and they handled situations very poor at times.
A film I can recommend for lovers of "The Squid and the Whale" and "Me you and everyone we know".
