Citizen Soldier is unlike any military film I've had the chance to see. It's a chillingly up-close and personal look at the lives and experiences of Oklahoma National Guard's 45th Infantry Brigade while deployed overseas in one of Afghanistan's most dangerous regions.

Directors David Salzberg Jr. and Christian Tureaud give the film an interesting twist by taking an untraditional filmmaking approach and recording the film's footage primarily through GoPro cameras attached to the helmets of the soldiers being documented.

By using this approach, the film captivates audiences and immerses them into combat right alongside these brave men and women. During the intense battle scenes captured on film, the realities of war are exposed to provide a raw and honest depiction of what it really means to be a "Citizen Soldier".

This film is a touching tribute that honors not only their bravery, but also the comradery and brother-hood soldiers of the National Guard exhibit. Hats off to everyone involved in the making of this outstanding documentary, I definitely recommend watching it.
