Review of Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away (2012) by Bill S — 02 Jan 2013
Saw it with the kids (9, 10, 10). Kids liked it. I appreciate the great bods and the incredible skill. Story was pretty weak (OK, there's barely a story), and it's really a spectacular ad for the Cirque live shows. Felt more like watching a concert than a movie though. Set are incredible (as they are the REAL shows), and it's apparent lots of care was taken with the photography and editing.
So, I'm mixed about this: Yup, I was entertained. Most of the action has nothing to do with the story, it's just a lot of amazing non-stop incredible acrobatics.
Think of it as seeing a super-circus as a movie.
