Review of Cinema Verite (2011) by Krys M — 13 Sep 2011
A fabulous film: the performances are note-perfect, especially Diane Lane, and the filmmaking is seamless. Somehow the early 70s setting doesn't end up being trivialized or camped up, and the birth of reality TV is seen a rather quaint, by today's standards.
But still, it all works, and Tim Robbins and James Gandolfini -- both playing against type -- are superb, too. Definitely worth seeing.
