Review of Cinema Paradiso (1988) by Nick O — 11 Sep 2012
Like I'm sure many others can say, my love of movies was not something I chose, I'm not religious, but I do feel like it was something that was predestined. Very few things (if any) have ever made more sense to me than cinema, everything else just seems crazy.
Cinema Paradiso is a valentine to cinema, and the life associated with it. It shows that our faith in the movies can sometimes falter, but no matter what, they are always there for us, waiting for our return, and when we do return, they lift our spirits and always renew our love, give us new hope that we can get the girl, and fulfill all our wildest dreams.
There was a very important time in my life when I realized that movies were so much more than just movies, they have had a profound and incredible impact on my life, and when feelings of loneliness or inadequacy set in.
.. the movies are there, without judgement, to make us us smile, and give us new hope in life's possibilities .
