Cinderella may not live up to the 1950 animated Disney classic, but I was shocked at how entertaining and fun I had with this movie. Lily James was a fantastic choice to play the title character, as she perfectly pulled off the kindness and beauty that was needed for the character, as well as the instant likability.

Richard Madden also blew me away as the Prince, and I found that my favorite aspect of the film was how great the chemistry was between jim and James. They were perfect together, and the film shined when they interacted.

Cate Blanchett was a very charismatic villain as Lady Tremaine, even if I had wished she had been less silly. Lady Tremaine in the 1950 film was the most unsympathetic and cold woman ever, but here she acts more like a cartoon than the actual animated film.

But like I said, Blanchett did a good job. Helena Bonham Carter did a good job as well as the Fairy GodMother, although I still think it was completely miscast. I enjoyed the Fairy Godmother being a kind old woman, but this version looks like a Bellatrix just in pounds of makeup and a Halloween fairy outfit.

The story was an interesting take on the story, although don't expect anything to really change. Its still goes the same exact way as you remember, just with some tweaks. And I was very happy about this.

I didn't want them to completely screw with the story like they did with Maleficent. So props to the screenwriters for honoring the story. Cinderella is a very cute and fun movie that I think will be fun for any kid, and perhaps some adults as well.
