I feel like the real-life incarnation really brought home how ridiculously terrible this story is. I did not expect this to be my reaction as a fan of much Disney, but I found myself irritated by this excessive & gaudy retelling.
The only glimmer of magic for me was Cate Blanchett's impeccable evilness!
