Review of Chungking Express (1994) by Justin S — 12 Feb 2008
Experimental and very rich in its photography, Chungking Express doesn't seem to have a point. Two main characters undergo a similar situation and respond in different ways, and as a result, outcomes are different.
Very visual and sound-oriented, with all of the songs reflecting/enhancing certain moments more than a typical soundtrack is designed to do. One song that caught my eye was a Cantonese cover for Dreams by The Cranberries.
