Review of Chungking Express (1994) by Jonathan B — 16 Apr 2012
After watching Fallen Angels, I knew I wanted to see Chungking Express (yes, Chungking Express was made first...). Wong Kar-Wei does such an excellent job in expressing the characters' sense of loneliness and desire for companionship.
The characters are fun and eccentric (and oddly, I could relate to some of their quirkiness). The filming style also helps capture the mood and helps the viewer feel involved.
