Review of Chungking Express (1994) by Eric C — 11 Aug 2013

This movie will forever be one of my all time favorites and have a special place in my heart. It captures the raw energy of Hong Kong of a certain era and portrays the happenstance that draws these characters together and pulls them apart.

While the Faye Wong and Tony Leung story is the more accessible love story, the Brigitte Lin and Takeshi Kaneshiro story has grown on me over time. Seemingly every time I watch this movie, it draws some new meaning out of me.

I guess that's when you know this movie is a gem.
