Sorry about my lack in reviewing lately. I recently bought the box-set for the series LOST, and have sort of been absorbed in that spectacular show. Between that and a recent battle over one of my old reviews, I haven?t had time to watch too many movies.

C.H.U.D. however is a film I did manage to see this past weekend. I vaguely remembered it from when I was younger, and spotted it in the Halloween section of K-Mart, and picked it up. While this isn?t a great film, it still has enough to pull it from being a total waste of viewing time.

The story is about New York going through a problem with a large amount of missing people. And after a slow, and dragged out investigation by the police, a photographer and a conspiracy theorist of sorts, it is discovered that there are horrible man-eating monsters dwelling in the sewers.

The look sort of like a gargoyle without wings, who has also just been severely burned. And for some reason, their eyes glow bright yellow. Much like those lights around a vanity mirror. I?m not sure why they do this, other than to tell you that one of them is dead when they flicker out.

The movie doesn?t offer enough gore to satisfy hardcore horror fans. But it does offer a neat little story that works perfectly for its 96 minute run. You won?t get much out of this film, but what you do get out of it should be enough to make you want to see more horror films. And who can complain about that?.
