A promising movie that's largely sabotaged by it's use of a "found footage" gimmick. Setting aside the nagging question of why we are watching any of this footage (Is it actually found? By whom? Why are we being shown it?), and even the silly implausibility that somebody would buy an expensive camera to film exactly one thing, and then just film everything, the camera gimmick nails us into the perspective of one character.

The wrong character it turns out. The film is told entirely from the perspective of the film's villain, making it nearly impossible to identify in any way with the film's protagonists, who are relegated to the status of minor characters.

This becomes a real problem by the film's ridiculously hyperactive climax where it really feels like we have no stake in what's happening. The film tries to rectify this a bit by adding a romantic interest character who's sole purpose is to introduce camera #2, but she's in it far too little.
