Review of Christopher Robin (2018) by Paulo C — 07 Aug 2018
Christopher Robin - 3 out of 5 - Christopher Robin is a fantasy comedy-drama film directed by Marc Forster. The film is inspired by A. A. Milne and E. H. Shepard's book Winnie-the-Pooh and is a live-action/CGI extension of the Disney franchise of the same name. The film stars Ewan McGregor as the titular character alongside Hayley Atwell, as well as the voices of Jim Cummings and Brad Garrett. The plot follows Christopher Robin as he has grown up and lost his sense of imagination, only to be reunited with his old stuffed bear friend, Winnie-the-Pooh.(Wikipedia).
This film hits you right in the feels. It makes you feel emotion especially if you're a dad and it touches that inside part that always asks if you can do more with your kids. It delivers well on the message it is trying to get across and even though the movie is extremely predictable it is still very enjoyable with just enough nostalgia to the Winnie the Pooh of old and a new twist added to the universe.
This movie is a watch for me you will love the feels and child like magic. If you have little kids it may not interest them maybe 8 and up will like it. You can wait till this comes out on video as you may not feel its worth seeing in theater even though the CGI is very well done and believable. It should look just as good at home.
For anyone who has seen this movie let me know your thoughts in the comments below but please remember no spoilers.
