Review of Christopher and His Kind (2011) by Michael M — 22 Jul 2011
A well-done but none-the-less uninvolving account of the author Christopher Isherwood's experiences in Berlin that served as the basis the book that inspired the musical CABARET. RSC thesp Lindsay Duncan is good as Mrs.
Isherwood but DR WHO'S Matt Smith remains uninvolved and icy (perhaps Isherwood was, too)? Double feature this with the documentary CHRIS & DON, which also chronicles different aspects of his life.
