Review of Christine (2016) by Simon T — 05 Jul 2017
Rebecca Hall is the main reason to watch this slow and claustrophobic dramatisation of the last weeks of Christine Chubbock's life. Chubbock was a news anchor on a small Florida TV station in the early-70s, single, a virgin and emotionally unstable.
Hall - a beautiful and very subtle actress - gives an astonishingly good performance, and is supported by a brace of equally fine supporting actors and pitch perfect production and costume design. The only flaw is the languorous pacing.
