Review of Christiane F. (1981) by Matt C — 10 Jan 2015
A really interesting watch, heroin addiction has almost been bled dry in cinema these days but this small German film was a huge culture shock to audiences at the time. With a soundtrack and cameo appearance by David Bowie this propelled the film to a much wider audience and was truly shocking in it's time.
It still retains a lot of it's power today due to it's complete gritty realism despite a few performances that are a little Grange Hill in tone. If you're a fan of the Thin White Duke then it's a much watch anyway just for his input.
..Bowie is such a legend.
