A 'black comedy' adapted from a tale by Chuck Palahniuk, author of 'Fight Club' . It's in the same genre, a kind of picaresque ironic history. Sex is used as titillation for the viewer, as well as being part of the plot structure: the movie doesn't take itself seriously.
It's not quite a comedy and not entirely a credible tale. I suspect it works better on the page than on the screen.
