Review of Choke (1971) by Chris S — 18 Sep 2010
"Choke" exudes more sexual crudity, psychologically-driven drama even, than, as one might expect, comedy. Sam Rockwell played his part well, yet the storyline of excessive callousness has tarnished it; thus, at times, made him more of an annoyance than a charm.
I liked, though, the story involving his childhood past where he grew up cruising with his dysfunctional mom, who I really savored; for it gave the movie a needed balance.
