Choke became more like a romantic black comedy in this interpretation. Victor is a sex addict who cons people by faking choking to get sympathy money to pay for his mother's stay in nursing home, and he fell in love with the resident doctor.
Yeh, it was pretty funny, but it didn't have the same tone as the book and the message was lost in the film adaptation. I did have a few good laughs though!
