Review of Chocolat (2000) by Eric O — 14 Oct 2010
I thought it was a nice film to watch, using chocolate as an holistic remedy to unlock your passions and desires in a repressive and snobby religious town. Julliette Binoche was good (not to mention gorgeous as usual!) and Judi Dench is the highlight of the film as a bitter, but passionate old woman.
Johnny Depp looked far too groomed to be a gypsy and the predictable romance between him and Binoche was a bit weak and probably not even needed!
