Review of Chinatown (1974) by Gene H — 10 Sep 2012
When I first saw Chinatown, I crapped my pants. That's just a fact. It happened and there's nothing I can do about. (Now every time I watch it, I still crap my pants, but that's a different story because I'm old as shit.
) Anyways, Chinatown is a real awesome film though. Jay Bird Nicholson is a hot shot as J.J. Gittes and Faye Dunaway looks pretty good most of the time as her character. I think Chinatown is just great because of how surprising it is and how cynical the ending is.
Powerful stuff.
