Review of Chinatown (1974) by Doctor S — 24 Jun 2013
"Isn't that your phone number?".
"I forget, I don't call myself that often.".
Among the most immersive and rewatchable movie experiences ever executed thanks to Roman Polanski's masterful direction with peerless use of POV cameras that make you feel like you're right beside private investigator Jake Gittes as he probes the mysterious circumstances beyond what begins as a routine cheating-husband case. To reveal more would be criminal! Simply put, one of the best examples of filmmaking in every regard.
