Review of Chinatown (1974) by Romano C — 03 Mar 2011
Must-watch film noir film. Must watch film in general.
The director had COMPLETE control of everything down to the lighting used for each scene. The cast was so flawless, I can hardly imagine them outside of this film.
The plot has several twists each more devastating than the next, and unpredictable. Multiple viewing right there. And that ending, sobering...
Music is perfectly chosen. Opens and closes the film like a book cover and never gets obnoxious.
Visuals...I could you taste the dust...reminded me of that cottonmouth I got watching Hitchcock films like North By Northwest.
Real tragedy I only learned of this my looking up film lists. I need better friends...
