Review of Chinatown (1974) by Pierre K — 14 Apr 2011
A private detective starts an investigation for a rich woman thinking her husband is cheating on her...
It looks like many of the detective books or movies we have seen or heard about and in many part it is somehow true with the exception that Roman Polanski creates in Chinatown the perfect representation or almost of the genre .You can't find any better detective story which grabs so well the atmosphere of the old kind of the detective stories of the 1930's.Everything from the music to the camera works is perfect.the characters are interesting and gripping and the story itself made with talent.Polanski uses all his ability to serve the story in order to bring it to the level of a beautiful classic and masterpiece.
In fact there is not much to say about Chinatown except that it is an absolutely must see movie for anyone.
PS:it has one of the most evil villain ever.
