He is Roman Polanski,just after 5 years his wife was murdered,he he directs "Chinatown",and wins oscar..!!!! he gets accused of raping 13 year old and flees from US ,directs "Tess" later on again wins oscar.....this man is hard to understand but lets not jumble up his personal and professional life,he clearly loves making movies,ofcourse he directs a class apart,i'd not mention "The pianist" here ..:).
Chinatown was seriously not my kind of movie,saw it in parts actually :P but everytime I started watching,i didn't get bored...which I was sure..i'd be..! Directing Jack Nicholson would not have been an easier job..! but this guy made a sperb movie,with the suspense I must say way ahead of times....the sexual dramas now a days movies hype.....!!! doesn't seem appropriate or fits well in most of the movies,but this 1974 movie hits the bull's eye..! perfect game,perfect targets,perfect thriller...perfect Detective....he gets hurt,he bleeds,but he doesn't leave....!!!!!
