Review of Chinatown (1974) by Paul P — 17 Dec 2011
Robert Towne and Roman Polanski have created a noir setting in the old Los Angeles that is absolutely seamless in how it looks, sounds and feels. The screenplay by Towne uses 40s noir as a backdrop but the themes of greed and corruption sprinkled with greek tragedy make this absolutely brilliant.
All performances are great but special mention is in order for Nicholson, Dunaway and John Huston, just amazing performances.
