There is something utterly and completely engrossing about Roman Polanski's Chinatown. It starts out slow, but by the first half hour you've become so completely entrenched in its world that there's no turning back.
Beautifully shot, with twists and turns and some truly fabulous performances from Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway, its easy to see why its a classic.
