Review of Chinatown (1974) by Bjorn B — 27 May 2014
In my opinion Chinatown is the greatest film noir ever made. As bruised and cynical as the decade that produced it, this noir classic benefits from Robert Towne's brilliant screenplay, director Roman Polanski's steady hand, and wonderful performances from Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway.
The film is constantly building up to something until the suspense reaches its peak giving us one of the best endings to a film to date. Chinatown is a near perfect mystery thriller that I urge you to watch.
Its Polanski's best work in my opinion. A+.
