Review of Chimpanzee (2012) by Heather D — 01 May 2012

I love these Disneynature Earth Day releases so I was waiting expectantly for this year's installment. It did not disappoint. The story of Oscar, the baby chimpanzee, and his band is entertaining, poignant, and enlightening.

The best part is that it is all true. I must say that even though it was rated G small children who scare easily should probably not see the movie. Chimpanzees are pretty brutal which I did not know before the movie.

I would have gladly sat for another 15 minutes to watch more detail about how the movie was made and how the filmmakers came upon the story of Oscar. We are only treated to a few brief minutes during the outtakes.
