The first thing to note about this movie is that it is made up of footage taken during the research and study of these groups of chimps with nothing specific in mind as to how the story would go... and out of this, they get a real story, a real dramatic touching account of the relationship these chimps have to each other, and in particular to this baby they have named Oscar.

The movie is outstanding in that way... beautiful, sweet and informative while delighting us with antics from this baby and his troupe of family members. Tim Allen's narration of the story vacillated between irritating and tolerable but certainly was rarely a beneficial voice of knowledge which is what I was hoping for.

All in all, this is a really interesting, gloriously filmed piece of surprisingly intimate footage we might be grateful to have access to, and be very entertained by.
