The only one out of the Child's Play series I haven't seen is the second one, so I can't compare, but I definitely preferred the first one to this. Like all the Child's Play films, it's pretty silly, with Chucky seemingly invincible as he ALWAYS manages to return from the dead.
I didn't like the military school idea either, but OK if you want a few laughs.
