Review of Child's Play (2019) by Thegldt — 07 Aug 2019
2019’s reimagining of Child’s Play is a lean and decently entertaining slasher film (it delivers properly gory deaths), though it has a bare-bones story, can be tonally confusing, and feel like budget Final Destination at times.
Not as creepy as I expected (but Mark Hamill’s voice kinda helps) and there’s a bit of comedy, especially from Brian Tyree Henry. Gabriel Bateman is also a great child actor who holds this movie together.
