Review of Child's Play 2 (1990) by Steve D — 15 Jul 2014
"CHUCKY'S BACK!".
- Two years after the first film killer doll Chucky returns to continue his rampage in the 1990 horror film 'Child's Play 2' by John Lafia (Man's Best Friend). This sequel has a larger body count and brings more explicit gore (especially dealt to the doll itself). If you are a horror fan like me, than I would definitely recommend this film as think it is the best of the whole Child's Play-series. Returning cast members Alex Vincent (Child's Play, On the Ropes) and Brad Dourif (Child's Play franchise, the Lord of the Rings films) are joined by Christine Elise (Body Snatchers, Vanishing Point). This is one doll you don't want to play with...
After the tragic events of the first film, Karen Barclay has been committed in a psychiatric ward. Her son Andy (Vincent)is placed it a foster home and tries to overcome his nightmares with the help of problem teenager Kyle (Elise). In the meantime, the manufacturers of the Good Guy Dolls have reconstructed the remains of the Chucky Doll in order to find out what went wrong. Unfortunately, they also bring him back to life. After escaping the factory, Chucky (Dourif) locates Andy in order to perform the voodoo-ritual that will make their souls swap bodies. It doesn't take long before people around Andy start to die and the boy starts to suspect that the killer doll is back. Will the nightmare never end?
