This is a horror franchise that most people turn their nose up at as the quality seriously dropped off right after the first film, but the original remains very effective and fun horror flick. Like the Freddy Krueger films, the villain became increasingly ridiculous and one liner focused as the series progressed but the original was much darker and much more straight and that's why it remains the best and only one worth watching of the series.
However, I will say I enjoyed Bride and Seed of Chucky, although they were certainly more comedy and than horror.
