Review of Child's Play (1993) by Jesse P — 24 Nov 2011
Rating: B+, It's certainly made a name for itself. It's not the greatest horror film and certainly not perfect, but it is very original in idea and it is very entertaining. The idea of a killer within a toy is creepy and it's fun to watch what he might do next.
In terms of sequels, skip em. There is no comparing them to this cult classic. The only issue I had with the film was that they could have gone for a better angle, like, what if the kid was just imagining it all, but they make it clear he isn't directly in the beginning.
It would be more creepy if it was ambiguous, like how in "The Haunting" we never know if there are any ghost or if the main character has lost her mind. But other than that it's a solid movie.
